Leon, I tend to think Eisenhower was a great military commander. But, based on what I have read about him, he was a mediocre President. But, his foresight in this speech sets him apart from many other presidents. He saw the handwriting on the wall. Ike was getting intense pressure from the "military industrial complex" to rachet up the activity in SE Asia. Enjoyed this.
